we aim to deliver your chosen items to the place and person of your choice, in perfect condition and in the shortest possible time. we insure each purchase during the time it is in transit until it is delivered to you. all postage or delivery charges include insurance and packaging.
for deliveries within mainland uk orders will be sent using royal mail special delivery next day® (signed for). overseas orders including the eu and the rest of the world will be shipped using fedex® or ups.

each jane carr scarf is packaged in tissue and then in our signature black box, which is not only beautiful but ideal for storage too. larger items are sent in a complimentary jane carr black canvas tote. the items are then boxed in double-wall corrugated cardboard boxes to ensure safe transit.
we are unfortunately unable to redirect orders once your items have been dispatched. therefore, please ensure you provide a suitable shipping address for the specified delivery times.
all items are insured against theft and accidental damage whilst in transit from jane carr to the shipping address. once your items have been delivered to the specified delivery address and signed for, they are no longer covered by insurance.
once your order has been shipped, you will receive email confirmation of your shipping details and an airwaybill number. your parcel can be tracked via the royal mail, fedex or ups websites, depending on your shipping method. your tracking number can be used on www.royalmail.com, or by contacting fedex or ups (where applicable) on www.fedex.com or alternatively www.ups.com.
we will reimburse any reasonable costs you incur in returning the following items to us:
items we delivered to you in error;
items which were damaged upon delivery or are defective or incorrect;
you will be responsible for the costs of returning items to us in all other circumstances.
until you return items to us you are responsible for their safe keeping and taking reasonable care of them. we do not accept liability for returned packages damaged during transit back to us. it is your responsibility to wrap products adequately to prevent damage.
we will deliver the goods to the delivery address specified when you placed your order. please be accurate when you give us your address details as we will not be liable if the address you have given is incorrect.
you will own the goods once they have been delivered to the address specified and when we have received cleared payment for the goods in full. until that time then we will retain title to the goods.
unsuitable items may be refunded or exchanged within 14 days of our dispatch date. before you make a return you must notify us within 48 hours of receiving an item by emailing info@jane-carr.com. any returned items are not accompanied by the official documentation will not be accepted. if you prefer, you can contact us by telephone and we will be happy to talk you through our returns procedure, simply call (0)20 7387 4337.

please note that items must be returned new, unused and with all original tags still attached where appropriate. in addition, items must be returned in their original, undamaged jane carr box or canvas tote where appropriate as this is considered part of the product. we do not accept any item with any indication that it was worn or used, in such cases the item will be returned to the purchaser. we are unable to accept merchandise that is not received in the above specified conditions, furthermore, to ensure that your return adequately protected in transit, we recommend you send your items back in the original packaging provided. we strongly recommend that you obtain a free certificate of posting form from the post office, as we will not accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit.
for complete peace of mind you should consider sending the goods recorded delivery, but we regret we cannot refund this charge. please note that postal costs for returned goods are the customer's responsibility and will be reimbursed by us only in the case of damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied goods.
all correctly returned products will be refunded to the original purchaser's credit card, excluding all shipping costs, and sales taxes. please note, card refunds may take up to 10 business days for your bank to complete, depending on their processing time. this can vary greatly between card issuers and unfortunately we are unable to influence this procedure and time span.
if you have received an item as a gift you may exchange it for another item of a similar value, unfortunately monetary refunds cannot be given on gift purchases as all refunds must be made to the original purchaser's credit card.
please follow the same procedure for returns. however if the product you return is faulty, incorrect or damaged in transit, we will refund you the cost of the return postage, as well as the goods and your original postage and packaging charge. (please keep a receipt for the return postage).
prices on our website are shown inclusive of uk vat (value added tax) at the prevailing rate. if you order items for delivery outside the united kingdom they may be subject to import duties and taxes. we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be, and they remain the responsibility of the customer.
during the buying procedure, the customer will identify which country is the destination for the items. this information is used to then re-calculate the uk vat duties for the country specified by the customer. these are calculated and shown to the customer as part of the final invoice before the customer authorizes payment.
please note that cross-border deliveries may be subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities. you are considered the importer of record for items you order through our website and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which the items are to be delivered. most destinations are shipped to on a ddu (delivery duty unpaid) basis, which means that all relevant import taxes and duties will be excluded in the final payment invoice.
we accept visa, mastercard, switch, american express and maestro.
we accept credit card and debit card payments. if you are shopping from outside the united kingdom, when you place your order your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.
all items are in stock unless "this item is sold out" is displayed. please be aware that even if an item is in your shopping bag, it can still be bought by another customer until you have completed your order.
