These raffia bags are hand-crocheted over several days by a team of artisan women in Madagascar. Their skills are unique and the beauty of the products produced, beyond their external appearance, also lies in the ethical manufacturing process. These women, often from remote regions of Madagascar, have a stable job with substantial income that allows them to provide for their families. Each bag is lovingly crafted by a single craftswoman and any irregularities are seen as part of the unique character of the piece.

Raffia is a plant material that is both flexible and hard wearing.
